Blood Tribe Early Learning Childcare Centre (BTELCC)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Childcare Supervisor coordinates the day to day operations of the childcare side of BTELCC Centre as well as the Ninastako Day Care Centre (NDC). They would monitor the daily interactions with the employees and the children within the childcare setting, ensuring that the childcare side is efficiently operated in accordance with the Alberta Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations, Blood Tribe Administration Personnel Policy Manual and Blood Tribe Early Learning and Childcare Policies.

Childcare Supervisor reports to the Blood Tribe ELCC Manager
AREA OF SUPERVISION:
Positions which report to the Childcare Supervisor include:

Childcare Workers at Blood Tribe ELCC Centre

Team Lead at NDC
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Blood Tribe Administration Policies and Procedures, Blood Tribe Early Learning and Childcare Policies, Alberta Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations and the First Nations Inuit Health Branch, Environmental Health Regulations.

Ensure all reporting and tasks are completed in a timely manner for Funders and Administration when needed.

Is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and organizational objectives of the Childcare programs.

Ensure daily operational tasks are complete and in accordance with the budget.

Ensure staff/child ratios are met on a daily basis.

Supervise caregiver’s weekly/monthly programming to ensure quality programs are continuous and developmental needs of each child are in accordance with SPICE.

Ensure the Blackfoot Language and Culture program is coupled with the standard childcare programming.

Ensure all material for activities for indoor and outdoor play is up to standard and purchased according to budget.

Be responsible for the collection of all parent fees.

Facilitate staff meeting and parent orientations.

Work with the Head Start Supervisor at Blood Tribe ELCC Centre on shared PD and children’s activities.

Ensure communication, verbal and written, is respectful and consistent.

Qualifications
NECESSARY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

A Level 3 Early Childhood Diploma, a Level 2 currently enrolled in a Diploma Progam in a College, a minimum of 3 years related work experience in a Childcare and Early Learning setting or has completed an equivalent level of training in the following:

Alberta Permanent Teaching Certificate
-
Child and Youth Care Diploma or Degree
-
Early Learning and Child Care Diploma
-
Degree in either Social Work, Home Science (Child Development) or Science (Education).

Standard First Aid Certificate and training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Child and Infant CPR.
-
Must have a valid class 5 drivers license and a reliable mode of transportation.

Must submit an updated criminal record check and a CYIM check
