Custodian - Moses Lake Hall
Term - 1 Year
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Custodian ensures that the Facility is suitable for visitors by cleaning the premises on a daily basis and making sure that the public areas are neat and tidy. The Custodian for the Facility also ensures that the facility is clean and set up for specific events that may be taking place in the facility.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Custodian reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
AREA OF SUPERVISION:
Positions which generally report to the Custodian include:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Blood Tribe Administration Policies and Procedures Manual, and the Recreation Department Operations Manual.

Ensures that the main gymnasium, bathrooms, dressing rooms, is neat and tidy.

Inspects the gym after use and plans cleans duties around the condition of the facility after use.

Cleans bathrooms daily, disinfecting the sinks, toilets and floors.
-
Cleans dressing rooms if used.
-
Sweeps and mops floors daily.
-
Washes bleachers after use.
-
Empties and cleans out garbage cans.
-
Collects bottles and cans for recycling.
-
Ensures lights are shut off and all doors are locked daily.

Replaces bathroom supplies such as toilet paper, hand towels and soap as required.

Maintains an inventory of janitorial supplies.
-
Vacuums areas as required.
-
Cleans mops and cleaning equipment once a week.
-
Strips, waxes, and seals floors at least once a month.
-
Cleans windows thoroughly at least once a month and as required.
-
Cleans storage rooms once a month.
-
Washes walls and cleans out vents several times a year.

Sets up tables and chairs in preparation for events as required by the Recreation Department.

Performs light maintenance work such as painting or stripping baseboards as required.

Cleans back stops.
-
Reports any vandalism or suspicious activity.
-
Reports any maintenance problems such as faulty plumbing.
-
Cleans kitchen appliances (Stove, microwave oven, and refrigerator) counters and cupboards after use.

Any other duties as assigned.
NECCESARY KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

Must be highly organized and be able to manage your own time.

Must be physically fit and be able to be on feet for a complete shift while constantly bending, stretching, walking and lifting or moving things.

Must be very proficient and have initiative and to work independently.

Must be detail oriented.

Possess some general knowledge of cleaning methods and supplies
-
Must be dependable.
-
Must be detail orientated and be able to work as part of a team.
-
An ability to communicate in Blackfoot is an asset.
Qualifications
NECESSARY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
-
The ideal candidate must have a WHMIS ticket and an updated First Aid/CPR Certificate.
-
Related work experience would be considered an asset.
-
Must submit an updated criminal record check and updated SYME check.
-
Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable mode of transportation.
