Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Receptionist operates and maintains the reception area with a focus on managing the internal communications of the department via phone, email and in person, and directing the information to the appropriate BT FCSS Employee. The incumbent must also be ready to perform daily clerical duties. The ideal candidate must have a friendly and professional personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. They must be able to provide accurate information to our members of the Blood Tribe. They will need to be proficient and meticulous in carrying out duties and must present a pleasant attitude to the general public
ORAGANIZATIONS RELATIONSIPS:

Reports directly to the Family & Community Support Services Director
AREA OF SUPERVISION:

Positions which report to the Receptionist Include: None
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Providing administrative support for the FCSS Department, and will assist in any other areas.

Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance of the Blood Tribe Administration Policies & Procedures Manual.

Maintains the front reception area and provides all clients and visitors with assistance in answering or referring their inquiries in both person or on the telephone in a professional and courteous manner.

Provides a comfortable reception area for the department's cliental and visitors.

Maintains an organized reception area by logging all incoming calls, mail, faxes; and ensuring the information is confidential and secured.

Manages office supplies and orders supplies when necessary.

Punctuality and attendance is a key factor, as the Blood Tribe FCSS Department is a Public Service department for the Blood Tribe.

Any other duties as assigned
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

Excellent telephone etiquette

Good oral & written communication Skills
-
Enjoy working with people.

Excellent computer knowledge – Microsoft Office, Excel etc. and other software material to effectively carry out the daily duties

Must have the professional ability to work under pressure

Should be consistent and reliable

Be a team player
-
Maintain confidentiality in the workplace

Understand and/ or ability to communicate in Blackfoot an asset
-
Understanding of the Blackfoot culture is an asset
Qualifications
NECESSARY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
-
The Ideal Candidate must have a Certificate in Office Administration with a minimum of three years related work experience

Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable mode of transportation

Must submit an updated criminal record check
