Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Kainai Bottle & Recycling Depot Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the bottle and recycling depot. The Coordinator maintains proper accounting and bookkeeping of all cash payouts by following the established internal control process set out in accordance with the Alberta Bottle Depot Association Service Agreement & the Bylaws of the Beverage Container Management Board. The Coordinator prepares and manages the work schedules for bottle depot staff and volunteers.

            

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

- The Kainai Bottle & Recycling Depot Coordinator reports directly to the BT FCSS Accountant.

 

AREA OF SUPERVISION:

- Positions which generally report to the Kainai Bottle& Recycling Depot Coordinator- KBRD Staff & Volunteers

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Blood Tribe Administration Policies and Procedures and the Family and Community Support Services Operations Manual.

 

  • Maintains proper accounting and bookkeeping of all cash payouts by following the established internal control process set out in accordance with the Alberta Bottle Depot Association Service Agreement & the Bylaws of the Beverage Container Management Board.

 

  • Process daily receipts and compile finance report for Accountant and Kainai Bottle and Recycle Depot Society Officers/Directors as well as the Beverage Container Management Board.

 

  • Prepares and manages the work schedules for bottle depot staff.

 

  • Ensures a well-maintained work environment

 

  • Ensures that the site is safe and cleanliness is maintained.

 

  • Coordinates bottle depot and recycle shipments

 

  • Monitors container counts are accurate as per the By Laws.

 

  • Maintain working contact with officers/directors (KBRDS) members and Alberta Bottle Depot Association representatives, by way of progress reports, updates and meetings.

 

  • Oversee all administrative duties for the Kainai Bottle & Recycling Depot

 

  • Maintains bottle purchase database; and provides monthly reports and stats

 

  • Resolves customers complaints

 

  • Trains Staff in job duties, and safety procedures & policies

 

  • Any other duties as assigned.

 

 

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

 

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

 

  • Must be familiar with cash control process and have knowledge in operating electronic equipment, ie. cash register

 

  • Must be organized and manage time effectively.

 

  • Must be highly motivated and creative.

 

  • Must be dependable and have initiative.

 

  • Must have excellent leadership and supervisory skills

 

  • Must be proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

 

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

 

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

NECESSARY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Must have a minimum of one-year related work or volunteer experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience (including Excel)
  • Supervisory experience would be considered an asset.
  • Must have a Class 5 Drivers License.
  • Must have First Aide & CPR Certificate.
  • Must provide an updated Criminal Record Check.
