Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the Direction of the Senior Operations Officer the Facility Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and administration of the ice facility. This role oversees ice maintenance, facility operations, staff supervision, scheduling, safety compliance, and customer service to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment for athletes, staff, and the public. This role will work closely with the Program Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
-
Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Blood Tribe Administration Policies and Procedures.

Manage daily operations of the facility and recreation facility, including open and close facility.
-
Supervise and schedule Facility Operator personnel.

Oversee ice installation, resurfacing, and quality maintenance.
-
Operate and monitor facility systems including refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical equipment.

Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, emergency procedures, and facility standards.

Work closely with Program Manager.

Perform inspections and arrange repairs or preventative maintenance as required.

Manage inventory and purchase maintenance supplies and equipment.

Prepare operational reports, budgets, and maintenance records and report and submit to Senior Operations Officer monthly.

Provide excellent customer service to user groups, contractors, and the public.

Respond to emergencies and facility issues outside regular hours when required.

Will operate ice resurfacing equipment and maintain high-quality ice conditions.

Performs janitorial tasks throughout the building daily and as necessary such as sweeping, mopping and cleaning bathrooms in order to maintain the cleanliness of the building.

Exterior Maintenance – cleaning and maintaining parking lot,

Clear snow or rain
-
Maintain grass and green space
-
Clean the area – free of garbage and ensure that it is safe.

Other duties as required.

Requires a high level of interpersonal skills and initiative in dealing with a variety of external and internal situations.

Must be very knowledgeable with the latest Microsoft software.

Ability to communicate effectively in Blackfoot would be considered an asset.

Qualifications
Necessary Training and Experience
-
Business Administration Diploma and/or Facility Operator certification with five years related work experience and previous management experience overseeing a recreational facility.
-
A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

Knowledge of ice maintenance equipment and building systems.
-
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
-
Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple priorities.
-
Must have a valid class 5 drivers license and a reliable mode of transportation

Must provide an updated drivers abstract
-
First Aid/CPR certification
-
WHMIS Certification
-
Updated criminal record and vulnerable sector check
