GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Facility Operator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the Twin Rink Facility. This position ensures the facility is safe, operational, and properly maintained for public skating, hockey programs, tournaments, and community events.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports Directly to the Facility Operations Manager
AREA OF SUPERVISION:
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Blood Tribe Administration Policies and Procedures.

Operate ice resurfacing equipment and maintain high-quality ice conditions.

Performs janitorial tasks throughout the building daily and as necessary such as sweeping, mopping and cleaning bathrooms in order to maintain the cleanliness of the building.

Perform routine facility maintenance including repairs, and inspections.

Hauls garbage to the dump on occasions when the garbage truck is not operating.

Monitor and maintain refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Prepare facilities for scheduled events, practices, and public activities.

Performs yearly inspections and servicing and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems.

Informs the Facility Operations Manager of any major repairs or servicing necessary to the building, the electrical, plumbing and heating systems and the machinery and equipment of the Twin Rinks.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.

Maintain dressing rooms, spectator areas, and common spaces in a clean and safe condition.

Assist with opening and closing procedures for the facility.

Set up and take down equipment for events and programs.

Respond to facility emergencies, maintenance issues, and customer concerns.

Keep accurate maintenance logs and operational records.
-
Work collaboratively with staff, contractors, user groups, and the public.

Other duties as required.

Ability to communicate effectively in Blackfoot is an asset.

Knowledge of ice-making and facility operations considered an asset.

Mechanical aptitude and basic building maintenance skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
Necessary Training and Experience
-
Facility Operator certification (Level 2) with three years related work experience.
-
Experience operating facility or maintenance equipment.
-
Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a reliable mode of transportation
-
First Aid/CPR certification.
-
WHMIS Certification
-
Updated criminal record and vulnerable sector check
